Default 91 octane=crappy gas mileage??

i filled up with 91 octane for the first time last week (i used to do 89+octane booster) and i have noticed my fuel gauge is dropping quite a bit faster than it was during my last tank.i havent done my actual calculations yet on my gas mileage but it seems to be going down faster than before.

im driving about the same speed and everything as i was before but it just seems like im burning gas faster. does the motor go into a different timing mode or something with the higher octane gas in it. or is 89+octane booster better than 91 octane.

Sounds like somethig else is wrong. Should get better mileage. I am guessing maybe a bad plug or o2

I've heard that the use of fuel additives crapped up your spark plugs. I don't use fuel additives (except for fuel line antifreeze and Sta-bil during winter storage).

Has anyone else heard of the fuel additive/spark plug thing?

those fuel additives are misleading in their advertisement.

the ones that say they raise octane by 4 points...means POINT 4. so you basically have 89.4 octane.

fill up with the good stuff...forget the additives

any possiblitity you put E10 in? that leads to poor gas mileage as well.

The octane rating of gasoline has nothing to do with the mileage you get. It only defines how much compression the fuel can take before it spontaneously ignites on its own without a spark.
