Black Exhaust??

Default Black Exhaust??

well i just put on my new magnaflow catback and put about 50 miles on it today and the inside of the tips are already black, is this normal or not? car has 73,000 miles and only thing i kno of wrong with it is a small exhaust leak somewere between the catback and the manifolds im hopin its just normal?

i guess i should clarify i dont think the exhaust gas itself is black jus the tips turned black

Running rich would be my guess as stated above. Has your car been tuned?

These cars do produce some black soot (or whatever you call it) at WOT because they are set to run rich. I can have my Corsa tips shinning at the start of an HPDE and by the end of the weekend the insides are solid black.

yes it is a pain in the ***, usually alot of carbon deposit could b to the engine running to rich as well
