what to do, what to do ($6500)
Sup people, im in the middle of a complete drivetrain swap. Im going t56 and moser 9" for sure but dont kno what to do with the motor. I want to go magnacharger but its costly for one thing. Im thinking I could use the 6500 to get custom true duals run out the back in stainless, fast 92/92 for my ls6 (engine already bought), and maybe a h/c swap down the road. I kno im going to have tons of fun with the 6 speed so fun factor isnt a factor. so i ask your opinions, would you bite it and get the exclusivity and cool factor of the magnacharger or make everything else 100% perfect(ie exhaust, intake, maybe fix paint flaws (not a new paint job)etc) with $6500?

Maggies are so new to the market and damn expensive, i was looking at getting one for my car, but 8k for a complete kit installed. Yuck. i payed less than that for the car. Why not put the cash in the bank where it can be used when you break something?

Fix Gm's flaws ... IE; horrible stock suspension , and a good h/c setup .. That way you would have a nice 9" , ls6 motor, good suspension and a solid h/c setup ... sounds good to me ...

thats kinda what i was thinking, glad you got my point about making everything 100% perfect. I mean the engine and trans are used but under 5k used. So i could have a car practically in brand new condition. The maggies are so few and far between though, i dont like having a cookie cutter car. I think 6500 is just way pricey when i would still have a car with paint flaws and a y pipe set up....im definitely leaning towards fixing things. not that the car is a piece, the interior is practically mint.

I would get a Trickflow H/C and a ported Fast 92mm intake. You can also consider getting roller rockers, new oil pump, timing chain, fuel injectors, fuel pump, ect with the left over money.
Also consider installation and tuning costs if you can't install it yourself.
You might end up spending way more than $6500 to go forced induction to do it right.

id get exhaust, fast 92/92, heads/cam and suspension(torque arm, panhard bar, lower control arms, and shocks/springs). Maybe even a new k-member to drop a little weight off the front. All that will prob. end up being around $6,500.

if it were you ide get the paint fixed and get any little problems taken care of before you start modding youll be happier with the car as a whole then, then with whatever extra cash get heads cam and the neccasary suspension/chassis ugrades, either way youll have fun spending it i sure wish i had that much to upgrade mine

i like the maggie idea, thats the route imgoing. hard to find. but i dont think you would be half assing it with 6500. it really depends on the life long question... how fast do you wanna spend? have you looked through the fi section and seen if it will fit your budget? h/c is easier and a little less expensive imo. but if you want a maggie you can have a reliable 450-50 rwhp on a pump 8psi setup on stock internals. how much power do you want and how often do you drive the car? if you want a mean soundin weekend cruiser and put some etp's and big ol trex and call it a day! lol
