Default My A/C is freezing the dash

On long road trips while running my A/C the air will stop coming out of the vents, however the fan is still running perfectly. I didn't notice until my dash lights started flickering, but the dash was ice cold, and the vents weren't blowing anything. On short trips this does not happen, only if I drive for more than a hour or so. As far as I know the dash has not been apart or worked on.

I'm guessing this ends with me taking the whole thing apart, lol.

When a/c is on and your outside the car does it drip water? If not then evap core drain tube is clogged and it's freezing up not allowing air to flow past the evap core to the vents. When it does act up does turning off the a/c for 30 mins while your on your long trip n then turning it back on and it's cooling again? If so then it's def clogged.

My guess is the charge is getting low and freezing the evaporator not allowing air flow. Shouldn't make your lights flicker though....

You're freezing the evaporator. And under the conditions you're in, it's not that uncommon. I bet you've got the system on full cold with a low fan speed, recirculating the air. You need to remove one of those variables. So either bring in fresh air, turn up the fan speed, or increase the temperature.

A few years ago the entire system was replaced by my mechanic. Everything is relatively new. I'll have him look at it. I was thinking it was something in my dash.
