HELP question about A/C filler valve leak
I just refilled my A/C lines and used a Dye to check for leaks, and the ONLY one I found was at the valve where you fill the r134A. I can clearly see it bubbling from inside the valve.
My question is; Can I replace the valve by itself or do I have to replace the entire line with it? where can I find the part I need Autozone, or dealer, or internet?
Also on a side note it took like 3 12 oz cans to fill it from Dead empty to about 30-35 PSI but I noticed that when I shut the motor off the pressure jumped to around 60 PSI is that normal?

The pressure looks normal. I do not remember the total coolant you out AC system takes, it should be under the hood. Or Google it up.
As far as the valve, it is just a schardder valve which can be removed with a special removal tool. It will just unscrew like a the ones in your tire valve stems do.

well I dont think that is has done any damage, I have been busy since I filled it, but I checked the pressure today with it running and it was right at 40-45 psi and the thing is still leaking but it has slowed down and isn't leaking as fast as the other day, as soon as I get a chance I am going to replace the valve and put two cans in it and see how it is after that.
On a side note the center guage gets down to about 55* during the day (85*) and around 45* at night when it is cooler, you never realise how nice A/C is until you dont have it!
