Default Trip resets to 0.0m after car sits for a couple days...

So whenever I let my formula sit for longer than overnight it seems, my trip meter will be reset back to 0.0m. Odd thing is my radio keeps all the presets and adjustments so its not cutting all power or it will reset the functions on the radio as well...
Any ideas? Its driving me crazy to not be able to figure my MPG

Yep, low battery voltage - sometimes accompanied by the gauges sweeping on start up too on the '99's.

Unless your alternator is dying then it will only be a stopgap until it kills the next battery.

You have a 99 car, it's a known issue with the gauge clusters on that model year. Happens to me from time to time too, usually during warmer to hotter weather and when I leave the stereo playing for quite some time with the car off which drains the battery a bit.

Your local auto parts store chain (Advance, Auto Zone, etc) will check your battery and alternator for free.

BTW truck is incredibly fast because of this similar problem.

It has a Engine Hour Meter. Calculating Engine Hours for Miles Traveled. equates to about... 465MPH. CONSTANT speed.

Yea I think its a memory power issue. nearly 19K miles with 40 hours. Happens in the winter when it gets cold enough to lower the battery power level. if it keeps up when you leave winter temps then worry, otherwise its just the cold causing it.

I think it's a ghost. Check under the hood - they usually hide near the firewall on the passenger side; near the A/C lines.

Otherwise, the battery's bad.
