ok guys help plz
ok i am new to a manual tranny and i hear its really bad to dump the clutch so i dont wanna do it. so i was wondering can i still burn the tires if i let 1st engage and do a slow roll ( like 2-3 mph) and hit the brake and gas?
i tried to hit it from like 3mph with tcs off and it seemed like the tcs was still on it just kinda slowly accelerated then full power... it doesnt seem normal
and another time i did the same thing and the tires got loose like i would amagine and the car started to shake and jump a lot, is that normal?
thx guys

That shaking is called wheel hop. It will tear a car apart!!! When I was 16 I cracked my lower control arm mounts to the frame on my 69 Chevelle. You need to go through your rear suspension components and replace the worn parts and maybe even install LCA lowering brackets. Mine would wheel hop when I got it. It doesn't now but I gone completely through the suspension and upgrade most of it. Dumping the clutch or as its know side stepping the clutch does put quite a shock on it.

PS I don't dump my clutch but at 5 mph if I bury the throttle I will break the tires loose.

ok you wont be able to do a 2-3 mph roll to a burnout in a standard because its too low in the rpm range, and there is no torque converter to lock up. its not going to hurt your car if you dump the clutch. (much ne ways) like if you do it every now and then, you wont ever tell the difference. just dump it and as soon as it starts spinning, pound the break. if you are on street tires, there is no need to redline drop it, just rev to about 3k and drop it then pound the break. unless your clutch has like over 100k miles, its going to be ok.
