Default Flashing SES Light???

What could be causing this? It doesn't feel like its misfiring. When i am at a stop and let off the brake a little bit the car feels shaky. I was thinking the exhaust leak by my header would be screwing up the O2 reading. Could that be it?

easiest way to find out would be to scan it man.

also check your plug wires make sure they are all the way in.

If the SES light is flashing it could be a serious issue, you should get the code read very soon.

a flashing SES light usually means you have a misfire. you might want to check coils or a spark plug with too big of a gap causing a weak spark, nothing you might not feel but just enough to mess up your cat and o2 readings. the exhaust leak could be an aid to the cause but i wouldnt see it being the whole problem.

Dude, if that exhaust leak is within 12 inches of an 02 sensor, that is bad and can be causing your issues. Fix it.

I'm with these guys. I believe a flashing SES light is a misfire.

But get it scanned ASAP.

Flashing SES light means a problem that should be corrected immediately before you cook your catalytic convertors.

If its a new engine in there, as you just stated...the flashing SES light is most likely a False Misfire DTC. The flashing SES light does not throw a code to be read.

To properly correct the problem, perform a CKP Variation Re-Learn:

http://www.seattleautomotive.com/ckpdoc.htm

This will sync your new engine with the PCM in order to detect a real misfire.

I think the dealer usually charges $90, my local garage charged me $50 for the relearn.

Post back and let us know how you made out.
