Default Changing a bad IAC motor

Is there anything I need to know before I change out my IAC motor. Is it a simple plug and play thing or do I need to reset the PCM?

Thanks All!

Plug and play. Disconnect the battery while you do it though. If you want to, do the battery Jesus on it. If not you should be fine.

Battery Jesus: Disconnecting both the negative and positive cables from your battery then touching the CABLES ONLY together.

It drains all of the power from the capacitors in the ECM. It's quicker than leaving the battery disconnected for who knows how long to loose all of the idle adaptations. Works like a charm for me every time.

I've taken my IAC off and back on a dozen times without ever disconnecting the battery. Always works fine.

Thank you for your opinion. I'll be sure not to give a rats ***. There is one thing I have learned working in the auto industry and that is there are no 2 car alike. Sometimes tricks will work one some and not at all on others.

They wanted to know what it was, not what you thought of it.

^^ Jesus man chill out for christ sake. "dumdumdumdum" means he typed in a word that has a word filter on it. f-t-w with out the "-" will make it pop up along with a couple other words, he wasn't calling you that. I swear some of you guys take the internet a little too close to heart. He was probably agreeing with you and you jump on his *** over a word filter.

same here, the only time i ever disconnect the battery is when i change it

although for the most part its because my alarm will go off 20 times when im trying to put the cable back on and everyone walks out of their houses and looks at me

My mistake. If i did act out irrationally I apologize and now I know what that means. Plus it didn't help I had a long day either.

I just dont see why you would have to do that to put a new iac. Only thing would just undo the neg cable being its eletrcial and thats the first step with any thing like that. and im pretty sure by the time you are done it would have reset
