Default need help

My DD a 1995 Camaro decided to take a dump on me today. Car will not start and also will not shift to N,D,R nothing when I press the brakes. This is a auto by the way. I here a tick sound once when I turn the key all the way but nothing. I check my Battery it's reading 12.5V lights radio works. Check battery connections all good. I'm thinking it's the shift solenoid but would this stop it from starting even if it's in park?

Well I got the car shifting, but still does not start. When I turn the key to on I hear a click then when I turn it all the way to start nothing. Thinking it might be the starter. Looks like a pain to change out. The cross over pipe is running right under it.
