The polarity of the wires in the motor have been switched by accident?

Did you plug it in backwards? Though that isn't possible to do... Had to have been wired backwards in the motor! That sucks.

It must have been a re-manufacturing issue. The plug only goes in one way.

can you not just switch the positive and negative wires and reverse the polarity....basically cut the wires a lil back from the plug and just wire back up opposite from you cut them from?

Yah thats my last option i guess, wish i could fix it the right way, but this will do. the only problem is its the switch on the driver and passenger side (only passenger window). i will let you know if it works.

No.... wait. You don't need to cut the wires. Using a small bladed screw driver, you can pop the terminals out of the connector and then switch their positions. (No cutting, no splicing, etc.)

You might see if you can return it and go for the AutoZone motor with the new design. Those motors should be new, should last longer, should be more consistent to one another, etc.

Well Thanks wssix99. It worked like a charm. For anyone else who may have this problem i hope his post saves you all the hassell of trying to take apart your window motor.

Go to http://www.dormanproducts.com or http://www.autozone.com and search for Doorman part 742-101. This is the new design motor. If you go to AutoZone's site, they have several different views of the part, where you can see the difference.

The motor is new and they claim it is redesigned with better seals, which prevent some of its modes of failure.
