Default A/C Compressor?

I am trying to charge my a/c on my 96 LT1. I have tried and tried and cant get the freon to go in the system the compressor is not coming on. I am starting to think its the low pressure switch. Its the 3 wire switch is there a way to bypass it? Its there anything else i can try to make sure the compressor will kick on? Any other suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

you can try to hard wire it to the battery to turn on. Oter than that i think there is something wrong with the compressor or switch if it won't kick on after the hard wiring it to get it to accept the freon.

did you put a new compressor on it or used? Also this might sound dumb and not to insult you but are you sure you hooked the wires up to the compressor after installing it? also you should be able to jump the compressor so you can determine if its a switch or not. i would first jump the compressor before i did anything. then if that doesn't work then i would look into the low pressure switch. hope this helps.

I know when I switched mine out there is a feature that when the compressor is low on refrigerant it will not turn on. I just bypassed it by jumping the wires to the battery and added a can of refrigerant, after it got some in the system it works properly and comes on as it is supposed to

How do you bypass any of the high or low pressure switches?
What do you mean by pulling vaccum?
Thanks
