Default Serpentine belt drive issues

First off, I just want to say that I have changed out the factory spring accessory belt drive tensioner and installed a Katech manual belt tensioner along with a new accessory idler pulley. I am using an authentic GM belt (no Goodyear Gatorback) and even have a new alternator and alternator bracket (the one from the TSB back in '00). I STILL have a squeak!!! I have NOT replaced the A/C belt or idler, but I have reason to believe that the sound is not there. The water pump pulley doesn't seem to squeak, either. Does anyone have any ideas? This is driving me INSANE!

Yeah, take the a/c belt off and see if it squeaks with just the serpentine belt on. Quickest way to rule out 3 a/c pulleys.

You probably already know....but the new alt bracket and/or the Katech tensioner could be the problem too. If they're not perfect, they'll cause the squeak.

If everything else doesn't pan out...loosen the alternator bracket and re-tighten it down.

I just replaced the A/C idler pulley, A/C tensioner and belt, but no luck! I'm debating whether I should go after the compressor or the main accessory drive tensioner pulley (the one that came with the Katech tensioner). I'm tired of the crickets!

Just a recap of what I have:

-Katech accessory drive belt tensioner
-New alternator bracket (the TSB one that has a longer snout for the idler pulley)
-New Powermaster alternator
-New A/C idler pulley & A/C tensioner (complete)
-New A/C belt + main accessory drive belt (both OEM)

What could be possibly wrong?

Did you run the engine without the a/c belt on there to rule out the whole a/c side of things for the squeak?

Wouldn't the water pump be weeping by if it was going bad? The engine temperature has never went over 210.

Water pumps don't always make noise, even when they start leaking. Water pumps don't break or fail, they always pump water...they just start to leak and they have to be replaced.

Well I removed the A/C belt, but that didn't stop the squeaking... However, why would a new alternator and idler pulley squeak?

Ok, the squeaking is coming from a pulley that the serpentine belt touches. Its not coming from the A/C stuff.

I sprayed a little teflon-based lubricant on the alternator pulley...and it stopped squeaking momentarily. What would cause the pulley/bearing on the pulley to go bad?

They just go bad.

Make sure the alternator and everything else you did is all aligned perfectly.
