Fuel Gauge problems..

Fuel Gauge problems.. The needle on the gas gauge sometimes will play around and most of the time not even work.. after the car has been running for awhile like driving it around it will read a little bit then stop working again.. car has 123000 miles on it and its a 99 Transam so im not really sure whats going on float getting stuck or what..
