I would check the most likely easy spots to cause problems, the main harness plugs where the coil harnesses plug in, TPS, MAP, MAF. Unplug them and check for moisture wreaks totally hell on the Ohm's and resistance that all these work off of. You can take a q-tip and try to dry them out or just spray in some WD-40 to displace the moisture. Hope that helps you out, could have even forced some water into the ends of the plug wires up on the coil end causing them to breakdown.

Holy **** man.

Not to scare the **** out of you, but you asked. If you sprayed your engine while it was up to normal operating temps, you could have a big giant paperweight now. Cool water on hot metal warps the hell out of it.

Now, I wash my engine every 3-4 months. But your supposed to start it cold, let it idle for like 5-10 minutes just to get it warm so the detergents work a little better, then hose it down CAREFULLY. I still accidentally get some spray on my PCM, coils and other sensors...for about a whole day my alternator spikes into the red so when I drive it I have to keep the headlights on, fogs on and A/C blasting to keep the volts out of the red while it dries under the hood.

But my engine is perfectly fine.

Hopefully, its just an electrical misfire issue because something is wet. Any SES light?

NEVER spray a hot engine.

How many miles are on your car? Maybe its time for a new set of plugs and wires. Good time to upgrade to some NGK plugs and MSD Superconductor Wires too. Just a thought.

Might want to check to see if you have any vacuum leaks as well. Water sucked in can cause alot of problems too

Your suppose to leave the car running WHILE you do that.. that way you can hear if your getting water in a area that isnt good. And NEVER use a strong powerwash, just lightly spray water inside the bay because of wires and such that may not like getting water pounded up they're ***.

its a good idea to use dielectric grease on both ends of the wires that will help keep moisture out.
