A really bad exhaust manifold leak would sound liek that....but there's changing tapping noises that are in-consistant. I would say you have a broken rod slapping around inside the cylinder and maybe your piston is just sitting still.
Put your finger on each intake port and see if you can feel which one is tapping the hardest. Then take that spark plug wire off, start it up and see if runs the same.

You can try and disable cylinders by removing plug wires one at a time to see which cylinder it's coming from. Have you tried to put it in gear and see if that changes the noise or remove the belt and see if that does anything. More than likely it's something internal in the engine.

And don't be revving it at all. If it is a broken rod, its easy to fix by removing the oil pan, shouldn't cost much. But if it is a broken rod, every time you run it you could be beating the **** out of the cylinder walls.
My friend changed a piston in his LT1 from underneath a few weeks ago. Honed it too.

if it's a main bearing this won't work... it does sound like a bad rod knock from the video though... either way that thing is screwed and due for a rebuild but for $300 i think it's worth it... hell, you could sell the seats out of it and make your money back lol

Right, but if the rod is broken then the piston is just sitting still in the cylinder. Isolating that cylinder won't change the sound at all, so you won't know if it worked. You would have to do that to the other 7 cylinders and keep a log to find out which 7 are the good ones, that would take a long time. Probably have to rev it a bit to even detect the misfires too.
