oil leak?
hey guys, i noticed my car is dripping little bits of oil. i rarely drive the car, as it just sits in the garage. i checked my engine oil level and its perfect, and the oil pressure is perfect. i would say its maybe a drip or 2, but by the end of the week its a little bit bigger than a quarter size puddle? any ideas?

I notice that if I don't drive the car for more then a few days it starts to drip. I am wondering if there's a gasket or seal that is dried out and needs to be replaced...kinda hoping that's what it is too. Of course I'm not too knowledgable in these areas.

Nobody can tell where your leak is coming from but you. You need to get under the car and trace the oil back to its source. Good luck. Post up when you have more info and you'll get more help.

Could be any one of a number of things - valve cover, drain plug, rear main seal, timing cover seal, oil gallery plug, cam plug, etc. etc.
Hence the comment from 91RS383 about looking for it.

Look for oil trails on the engine. If it's too dirty then use some engine degreaser and get it all looking decent so next time you'll be able to tell where the oil's coming from.
If you keep your car parked in a flat, clean spot (meaning no prior oil drops on it) then you can use that to help tell where the leak is - if you don't move your car then your leak should be from somewhere in the area of where the spot is.

thanks dragonrage!! its weird cuz i put some paper towels underneath the car and let it sit there for 1 day, and i checked this morning and the towels were clean as a whistle.

If your leak is above the oil pan, it's a good possibility that it only leaks when the engine is running. Start her up and let it idle over the paper towels to try and find the leak.
