Default A/C problem... need help!

So, my A/C went out over 6 months ago and because of deployment, I never got around to really fixing it. I bought some R-134A and hooked the gauge up, but it was already at the proper pressure. I know that my A/C Clutch never kicks on and when I turn off my car, i hear something purging... If that's normal, i never noticed it before. Anyone know what's going on?

You could have a bad clutch. Disconnect the clutch wiring connector and run a pair of jumper wires from the clutch directly to the battery, and see if it engages at all.
