Speedglass, be prepared for the $400 + price tag that comes with it.

yeah I have seen them. not wanting to do lexan though. I want a glass windshield that is lighter (not sure if any glass windshield is lighter than stock but I thought I would ask anyway.)

DOT glass windshields are heavy. It has to do with how they are constructed. It's actually two layers of glass with a laminate in-between. Non safety glass would be lighter, but much more risky.

I may be wrong, but I think its illegal to use anything other than the DOT approved glass for street use. The windshield is a crucial part of the cars construction as far as the roll over tests go. The windshield helps keep the roof from crushing down.

Now, for off-road use...that Lexan piece is awesome, a guy here in town has one for his drag race car, very solid piece, but you can crack it with your hand if you hit it.

I think if you could find a "glass" option, its only going to be about 4-5 pounds lighter.

Looks like your gonna have to find another area to save some weight, as there is no DOT legal option that is lighter then original spec windshield.
