Default Does anyone know

how to bypass the security chip in the key on a 94 F/B? Maybe I should just spend the $50 to get a new key and lock cylinder!

there is a VATS writeup on how to do it on the 4th gen cars, it consists of getting at the wires under the dash below the steering column, and soldering in a radio shack resistor(s) having an equal value of the resistor chip that's in the key.

yea...thats pretty much it. its all about the resistance of the chip, and you have to match that pretty much exact. it will save you alot of aggravation and BS.

Thanks.

I was going to leave work early the other day and the security light came on and wouldn't let me start the car for 15 minutes. Did this 3 times in a row. Sucks when you are going to skip out of work early and the car stalls your plans.
