Unhappy Car won't start, VATS Mod didn't work

99 Camaro SS, Car was running fine and now the security light is blinking and it won't even turn over. I did a search on the forum, and saw the post about splicing the resistors into the orange wire coming from the column and did that. It reads 881 Ohms now, but the security light is still blinking and it won't even turn over. I unplugged the battery for about 10 mins and that didn't fix it. I also replaced the starter, neutral safety switch and starter relay just to be sure. What else could it be????

did you do this: http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61262
you might also trying a diffrent set of resistors, some are only good for around + or - 10% of stated rating.

I used the +-5% resistors. Would it matter what order they were in when you solder them into the white wiring?

5% resistors are fine. You may wan to double check your resistance measurement on the key. Here is the table from the link previously posted.

I just got in from rewiring it like the post you linked directly into the purple wire. It started right up that way. Not sure why it didn't work the other way, but I am just glad to get it running again. Thanks for all your help guys.

You wired the resistors into the steering column and not the ECM.
