U1000 Code?

A U1000 code is a generic U code. It could mean many things. In later years they added more U codes and new definitions that had been all lumped into U1000
Basically U1000 means that a Class II data (possibly the SOH data) from a given module is not by the module with the stored DTC.
This could be caused by an intermittent open or short in the Class II line between 2 modules or a module that is off line or didn't wake up. It maybe off line because it is gone. Like a Radio Swap
Now we have a U code for too few modules online to aid in the diagnostics.
You need to find out What Module is setting the DTC first and look at what is communicates with.
Example the IPC doesn't care if the AMP is gone or the or the Onstar is gone, but it would need the PCM and the SIR module along with others.
