Default Not LS1. But help please?

My little brother has 2004 Mazda RX8, and the dang thing drinks oil like no other. It holds 3 quarters of oil, and within 3-4 days he has to completely refill it. It doesnt have any leaks btw. Also, when accelerating it doesnt go anywhere when you floor it. Example, if I leave a redlight and floor it it just bucks and stumbles and doesnt go anywhere untill you get it to about 6000rpm then it acts like normal. Any ideas about what could be wrong with it?

It has a rotary engine? That could be a problem No honestly it sounds like either the rings are shot or you have a blown head gasket. Does the car smoke? And how does your antifreeze look? Does it look like it got oil in it?

The engine EATS oil. Very common with the RX8. Hop onto a RX8 board and youll find tons of complaints about it.

Your best bet would be the RX8 board. To me if it taking that much oil something is wrong but I could be mistaken. Good luck man

What do the plugs look like? It doesn't leak, doesn't smoke, and we know that oil doesn't evaporate...which puts you back somewhere with the first two options.
