Had the car tuned a few weeks or so back and had the VATs tuned out also. But with it tuned out will the key cylinder still cause the often no crank issue? I thought all the cylinder did was move a rod to the ignition switch on the column.

I had mine tuned out and it still SECURITY'D on me. Had to install the Resistors in the Column to fix it. Havent had an issue since.

Yeah, you need to bypass it with a resistor. The BCM controls VATS - you can tune the PCM to ignore the BCM fuel enable signal, but not the starter relay signal.
