It is just regular power steering fluid in my base T/A. I flushed my '01 with a container of Prestone power steering fluid last year. No noise, no issues, and very clean. The owner's manual says GM power steering fluid or equivalent. I just looked it up for you if you were curious what it might say. If the WS6 is a different power steering system someone will need to speak up or you can just call your local GM dealer.

were are you guys finding the Valvoline SynPower power steering fluid?
Thats what I always use, I went to go buy some last week at the only place I could find it (Advance Auto), and they don't have it anymore. They "replaced" it with Valvoline Maxlife, which i ended up using instead.

PS fluid is somewhat generic, so any bottle that says "power steering fluid" will do the trick. Only certain makes such as Honda specify a special type of fluid.
Do not use Dexron. Although any hydraulic fluid will work, PS fluid has properties specially formulated for PS.
