Default stupid headlight

my driver headlight started grinding so i flipped the brass gear that the previous owner had put in. A few months later it started grinding again and i noticed the headlight motor would wiggle because the clamps were not holding it tight to the gear housing so i decided to get a new motor and a new gear from b-franker. it started grinding again after about two months. what could be causing the problem

When you take the motor out, is the door binding in any way. It may not be a problem with your motor - which could be why the motor is bucking, leading to the gear slippage.

I'd first try disengaging the motor from the door and operating it by hand to see if there is any binding. If not, run the motor without any load on it and see how it behaves. That might help isolate where the problem is.
