Hey guys I just received my Volant replacement filters from K&N and right out of the box they have that red oiled look to them. Does K&N shipped them oiled? I read the box and nothing is mentioned. THX

If its Red and in some type of wrapper than Yes.You can prob feel it once you go to put it on.

They are actually OVER oiled to prevent from the filter media drying out on the shelves.

I dunno bout anyone else but I clean and re-oil even a new one. Sometimes they really cake the **** on there from the manufacturer.

just put it in, dont re oil it. take off your MAF after a week of driving it, clean it and put it back on. ive had 3 K&Ns and havent had problems using that method

They come pre oiled... If not, they would be white (cotton media serves as the filter's base). Some say the factory oiling is too much and fouls maf's... I say to hell with a maf, run a SD tune!!!!!!
