E-Brake light wont come on!
Well, i noticed this the other night when i started my car and the lights went on instantly. everyone knows that with the ebrake pulled, the lights on a camaro do not go on at first!
well i turn the key and all the lights flash in the "turn key on" position and when i started the motor, the lights were on as the car would normally without the red ebrake light.
The light does work because it flashed like i said with all the other ones with the accessory position.
tried restarting the car and all that, and pulled the ebrake when parked after it was started and didn't come one either.
any suggestions guys?!?!
i read the post below this and he had the exact opposite problem as me!
thanks fellas

mine does it sometimes, play with the ebrake lever, slam it down a couple times, because the ebrake is down a switch is pressed to tell it that it is down , there is no switch for it to tell it that it is up, if the switch retracts thats how it knows the ebrake is up.

not true, I had the same problem as the OP i switched in my GF's Headlight switch and still nothing all you have to do is take off the console and mess with the little metal piece and make sure when you lift the handle it pushes it down to create a contact, in turn lighting the BRAKE light on your dash

This is what the switch looks like:
It has a single connector that plugs in to the side and one screw holds it in place. When the e-brake handle is down, it presses the copper tab away from the body and opens the switch - which "turns off the light."
1) Take the Center Console out
2) Remove the connector and screw
3) Clean part and re-install
Very easy. The contact between the two pieces of copper gets dirty and collects mung over time. When that happens, the BCM can't tell that the brake handle is pulled up.
