Default Ants and a leaking spoiler!! Oh my!!

I have the weirdest problem. I had parked under a tree, and 2 days later, the car was covered in ants. So I cleaned it all off, and they came back. So I bought ant bait, you know the 4 pack plastic ones were they eat the poison and they die. Well, they didn't die! They must have built a nest between the door or some body panel. Any ideas on how to get rid of them. I live in the Tampa area, so it won't get cold enough to freeze them, and I don't know if that would kill them or not.

Second issue, have water leaking into hatch area, replaced weather strip around hatch, and water is leaking still. It seems to be comming from the spoiler hold down nuts. I tried to tighten them when I did the weather strip, but it seems to be leaking still. Is there any seals that could be changed?

Any info on either question would be great

There is a TSB for water leaking in through the hatch: "00-08-57-004 DEC 00 Rear Hatch - Water Runs Out of Corners" I haven't seen the text out there, so you'll have to go to a place like Alldata and purchase a subscription or see a dealer to get the details. And then, it may or may not solve your problem.

For the ants, take some bleach, just a cap full and dilute it with a cup of water. Just use it to wash that area then risne it good. Probably some kind of tree sap

Kills the ants quickly, and in mass numbers around the baits. They'll NEVER return!

That be a problem to have there should be some kind of foam gasket around the mounting holes that should fix your water leak. Good luck with you new friends.
