so i was driving down the highway last night and everything seemed well when the car starts revving high and the car slows down. i looked to make sure i didnt accidentally pop it into neutral and sure enough its in drive. so i think either the transmission was slipping in 4th or the driveshaft fell out lol. i stop on the shoulder and the car seems to be running real rough, like a heavy misfire and the voltmeter is bouncing back and forth. i kill it and pop the hood, and everything seems to be in order. car is not overheating,leaking,smoking, etc and the driveshaft was still there. i started the car back up and drove off as if nothing happened. have never had that problem before, and havent had it since. any ideas? car is a 96 a4 lt1
