Default Shaking Engine

When I run my engine and pop my hood, I can see my engine kind of shake a little bit.

It's nothing violent, just enough of a shake so that if you were deaf and couldn't hear, you could tell the engine was "alive" just by looking at it.

Is this normal or do I need new motor mounts?

I've heard it can also be caused by an exhaust leak, is this true?

It is normal, if you want to stop the engine from shaking then install either Polyurethane motor mounts or solid motor mounts... Then that motion will be transferred to the larger mass of the car and instead of watching it you will feel it.

Or you can do like we did and put a decent sized hydraulic roller cam into a big cube motor and tie it to poly motor mounts and watch the whole car shake rattle and roll...

definately sounds like time for new mounts,,, I would not recommend the solids, I had them for about two months and got rid of them. I swapped to polys and am very happy with them.
