Default 2000 camaro z28 slow throttle response!

We just bought this camaro, its a ls1 m6, has 123,000 miles on it. It has 3 codes popping up on my scanner. O2 sensor, egr valve, and a catalytic converter code. The car runs great. No missing and is very smooth. But the throttle seems to be a little delayed to respond. If you press it down 1/4 throttle it seems like it is delayed for several seconds before it reacts.

The catalytic converter has been removed and replaced with a straight pipe. I also plan to delete the egr valve so thats no issue. The only one i see it having would be a o2 sensor.

Any idea's were to start to get the throttle to respond any better?

I drove my buddies 01 SS and his has great response compaired to mine. But he also has a few mods were mine is stock.

Which O2 is it? if it is a pre-cat sensor, get that bugger replaced.

Also, if the cat is plugged up, that can make it sluggish too. Idle might be fine, but it's gonna be working hard to push exhaust through it.

Also check the throttle body for build up due to our lovely pcv system puking oil into the intake. I had to do mine when I first got it. It wasnt sluggish like you mention but it wasnt a crisp rev either.

I had my cats swapped out for straight pipes too and I noticed that the car ran rich, bogged and had poor throttle response but after about 50-100 miles the computer flattened itself out a little bit. Still far from perfect though, the throttle response is now the only issue after the cat removal. And I have all of said "tune up" items already so an actual tune is probably a good next step

Does it only do it cold or warm(the engine not the outside temp)

Give it a basic tune up and run good gas on it.
