Default Most of my gauges aren't working

Temp gauge works perfectly
Oil pressure gauge seems to be fine
Tachometer is inaccurate according to computer readings
Speedometer stays at 0 MPH, but bounces up to 10 or 20 MPH then goes back to 0
Odometer is stuck at 78,800. Trip meter will go up a bit sometimes, then resets to 0
Battery gauge shows it's not charging, but it is

Would you say I need to find a new gauge cluster, or does this sound like there are some wiring issues?

Check grounds before you do anything else.

I had the almost exact same problem with my gauges. Took the car to my mechanic and he said he replaced a relay from under the dash. I don't know which one but that's what he told me hope it's enough to help

It turns out ALL of my gauges are reading inaccurately. Temp, oil, and voltage read low. Tach reads high. Speedometer/odometer only work randomly.

So my best bet is to check grounds first? If I need to replace a relay, wouldn't the gauges not work at all?

I fixed the speedometer/odometer readings. The original owner had a ratio adapter installed, because he put in 3.73 gears. The wiring was either jacked up, or the adapter stopped working. I'll be using HP Tuners to correct the speedometer today.

Now here is the strange part I need some input on... there is a thin blue wire that's spliced into a green wire from the computer. The blue wire went right across the engine bay, through a hole in the firewall, and was grounded underneath the dash. I believe he was grounding some stupid button he installed that I also removed. The thing is, if I don't ground that blue wire, my gauges don't work AT ALL and the car won't turn over. Where is that green wire from the computer supposed to ground?

Every one of my gauges work now I went through all the wiring and found a broken ground on the harness at the back of the intake. I also made a few other electrical repairs and cleaned up some of the wiring. Thanks guys.

Good job. You actually fixed it the correct way whereas he just spliced the blue wire into the ground off the PCM (I'm assuming) instead of actually finding where it was broken.
