it could be a number of things. trans mount, u-joint, bearing...

its just one loud knock when you hit the gas or a constant pattern?

Its a constant pattern... it soundes like a hammer hitting... the faster i go the louder and faster the knocking gets. when i slow down it slows down.

Ive also had it on jack stands and looked under it and didnt see any obvious problems... My BIG problem is im out of town and suppose to drive home today, So im hoping it will make it home then I can really get under it and try to figure out what the problem is... It should be ok to drive??? and any suggestions on what the problems may be so I can start there once I get it home would help!

It definitely sounds like something in the differential itself, possibly either a bearing or something with the gears. If it were me, I would not drive it because I wouldn't want to risk the diff locking up on me when driving, but that's just me.

Out of curiosity, is your car auto or manual? If it is manual, I would be VERY easy on it if you decide to drive it.
