Default Replacing Cats on 99TA

I need to change out the cats on the car to pass emissions. Well from the last time we had it checked, the cats were throwing the check engine light on. i havent been under the car to check them out, but wanted to ask since the exhaust is still stock, are the cats something that i can remove and install myself? or will i need to take the car to a shop? I mean are they bolt on or welded on?

They are bolted & welded on.If u buy factory ones they just bolt on but they are not cheap unless u get a low mileage set from someone who took there off which is your best bet and i just threw away a set w/ 28,000 miles.
