whinning noise when turning

Default whinning noise when turning

i hear this normally from new gears. however as far as i know the car was bone stock when i bought it and never put gears in myself..

Checked your power steering fluid? Low fluid will make the pump whine when turning.

Change out the rear end fluid and add some posi-additive to it. I got mine at autozone for like $6 and I haven't had the noise since then.

Thats exactly what will fix the problem. 90% sure.

just get Vavoline or mobile1 it doesn't really matter. Unless you obsessed over a certain brand. Then get the additive. Only put 1-2 oz in the diff.

and how much diff fluid? also how do u change the rear diff fluid in these cars lol undo the bolts on the housing and then the fluid will drain out?

Unless you have a vacuum pump to pull through the check plug than yes you need to pull the rear diff cover for the fluid to drain out. You will need at least silicon to reseal the rear cover. As for fluid capacity alldata just specifies to the top of the fill hole i would imagine no more than 2 quarts.

Yes 2 quarts is all you need. And then then add the additive!
