Default Steering column issues

So, the trans am has been having an issue for a while. The key will get stuck in the ignition, and you cannot get it out. You can shake the wheel, and you can hear something clicking in the column. Also, occasionally the security light will come on when you try to start it, and you have to wait for the security light to go off before you can start it. Anyone know how the gm steering columns work?

A4? if the shifter is not all the way in park you may have a hard time getting the key out.

It is an A4, and the shifter does fully engage into park. If you roughhouse the wheel side to side while molesting the key, it will eventually come out, but something is definitely going on.
