someone tell me how to do this. preferably without removing the steering wheel

I had to do this about a year ago. I don't think you can do it unless you tear into the steering wheel. Don't worry though, it's easy as **** to do. Chilton's, simple tools, steering wheel puller (cheap) and some metal wire were all I needed.
