Those are the same black prothane mounts I ordered. Some people say the red ones squeak and make noise but I don't know if theres any truth to that.

ya? well I don't see any need to have them in red anyways. I actually found them on Summit for 10 bucks cheaper too.

I hope this cures the banging on my 2.5" pipe... It's rattling my teeth out!

Thanks for the input.

Same Prothane mounts I have in my car, no squeaks, no more y-pipe banging. Summit is cheaper too.

I have the red Energy Suspension mounts in my C3500 truck, no problems there either.

cool, I ordered them earlier from summit. $60 shipped, couldn't ask for much better... Now I've got some mental preparations to go through before putting the car in the air and tearing the old ones out.

I've read through the write up a million times and I'm still not looking forward to this, especially in the heat!!

LOL, thats why I havent installed mine yet either. I have a new set of red ones in some freshly powder coated black clam shells, but its too damn hot to go out & mess with it. I'll do it this fall maybe. Tryin to decide on rippin these 5.3 heads off for a stock set of 243's & little bigger cam. So if I do that I'll wait & do them then.

when i put the polys in the shell .......i greased em up.....mobil syn grease......to make em fit better.....they are jus a tad bit larger than the clam shell........and to make sure they never sqeak.......and i only used 2 bolts ...........not the 4 included in the kit......the bolts are only to hold the clam together til you mount it on the engine

The red ones are fine, no squeaks or troubles.

Great pics, I got my done this weekend. It was a 30 hour project over 3 days. But I got it done and it feels so much better. No exhaust pipe banging on the underbody. Smooth shifting... I'm sore as hell, but it was worth it.

Thanks for the support in this thread, much appriciated.

Here's my pics
