How do i remove the console ?? MGW short shifter install...
Well I'd like to install the MGW tomorrow and being as lazy as I am I thought I'd ask how exactly the console needs to come off.. if it does ? Or does the boot just need to come out? I previously had a UMI short stick on a factory hurst and it was pretty nice. My new SS has no Hurst just school bus-long throws.
if there are any write ups any links would be great. I did search for a few but Im tired as F** and would love to wake up to some info

Remove the 2 screws under the armrest door that hold shifter trim. The front of the trim will just pop up since it's clipped in. There will be some wires for the ash tray light and TCS if you have that to unplug. There are some 10mm bolts inder the armrest, as well as 1 on each side near the front of the console. You have to make a choice on the park brake handle, either drill out the rivet, or just lift the console up and twist it out of the way with the handle still attached. I think that's it if I remember.

This thread should be in the manual transmission section...
http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...sity/index.htm
Click in installs, then under transmission, click shifter install.

Just installed my MGW today and it is AMAZING! Went from stock slop-box to this and the shifts are very precise, and VERY short! No adjustability on these just bolt in and go. VERY straightforward install took me 30 minutes.

Install took me a few hours last night but I took my lazy *** time and cleaned and added blue thread lock and rubber washers to like every bolt I could see. Not to mention I had issues getting the stock boot over the mgw and wasnt sure if I was supposed to remove the orange piece to install it; i ended up slitting it and stretching it over.
