Default Surging/missing at constant speed

I've got a '99 LS1/T56 in my BMW.
I was driving around yesterday and I noticed while I was running around 60mph, the engine would start surging or missing while I was holding a steady speed. If I gave the car any throttle, it would clear right up but then when I went back to a steady speed it would do it again. It did this for about 2 mins then quit and didnt do it anymore. Today I drove the car for about 35 miles and it did it the entire time, anytime I am at a steady speed, in any gear, the engine will miss and start jerking, all you have to do is give it just a little throttle and it clears right up and pulls. I'm not sure where to start. There are no codes, no check engine light. I just got HPTuners yesterday, so I was scanning it today. What should I be looking for?

thanks for any help
