Erratic idle
My idle jumps around when I'm in neutral and coasting to a stop. It will jump from 600 to 1200 rpm and settle when I come to a complete stop. It is worse when the AC is on. I changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF and IAC but nothing has changed. Any idea's?
Thanks

you can try reseting the iac just unplug it then turn the key on but dont start it and leave it like that for a few min.
then turn the key off plug in the sensor and crank it up
and this also works for the maf.
you can also reset the pcm and make it relearn its idle by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 min then hooking it back up.
if not then i might just need a new iac valve some times cleaning then dont cut it.
is there any codes on?

Vacuumleaks +1,
wiggle all the little hoses when idle; see if rmps rises or stalls ,if this happens and not sure which one of the billion little hoses it is:
I have heared of someone using a highly flamable non residual aerosol, dont know what u have in the US and start spraying carefully on the hoses bit by bit piece by piece without moving them ,if rmps rises; bingo you have found the spot.
Carefull with this of course, not to set the **** on fire ,that would be the worst solution
Keep an exthinguisher on hand, non foam one,no water!!!

I used the MAF cleaner from Autozone.
I disconnected the IAC and turned the key to run as SHAUN instructed and it seemed to do the trick. So far the idle has calmed down and is staying pretty steady.
Thanks guy's!!
