oil leak , oil pan or sumthing else ?
its a 01 z28
has a pretty noticable leak
looks like its coming from the oil pan but could it be from some where else ? its close to were the engine and tranny mate .
could i change the oil pan gasket or even drop the oil pan with the engine still on the car ? would i have to jack up the engine and unbolt the motor mounts to be able to do this ?
its been a while since i did thisor even since i had a ls1 car . if its not the oil pan gasket would it be the rear seal ?
any help would be greatly apreciated

If you don't have an after market K member you will have to drop the member or raise the engine. I don't see the pan gasket leaking unless the bolts have come loose. I would check them first. If they are all tight then pull the starter and look for leakage from the main seal. The seal would be an easier job then the pan gasket. You only have to pull the tranny and fly wheel to change it.

Does it leak all the constantly? I had this same thing happen to me twice, but have not seen it since....Make sure it is oil, and not clutch fluid. I think somehow clutch fluid may be able to seep out of somewhere from time to time, which will trickle down and end up right where the tranny meets the oil pan...
Good luck, keep us updated!!

do you mean converter fluid ? this is a a4 car ..
well either way i might take it apart and replace the oil pan and rear main seals . and probably do a stall since i have to remove the converter anyways !
