Default SES on then off no repairs done...twice w/ diff codes

OK So my 02 z28 has had the ses light pop on twice now. About 3 months ago it came on and I stopped by autozone to see if they could read the code for me, they tell me its the egr. Yeah I know my 02 doesnt have EGR so I cleaned the K&N which just happened to be dirty and the following day the ses light goes off. WSell I figured that's weird but hell why complain the lights off and the cars running just fine. Well then about 3 weeks ago the SES light comes back and I stop by another autozone and ask them to read the code, I'm dying to hear EGR again but they tell me passenger cat has a problem. Well I've got about 55,000 miles on the car and figure sure cat could be going so I price stuff out and the following day the SES light goes out magically while my girlfriend is driving the car. If you're sensing a trend yes you're right, The damned SES light just popped back on again last night. I haven't done a thing yet, I curious anybody have any insight here? Is my car actually messing with me or what. Does it actually mean something that the light has gone off and come back without any actual repairs being done? Anyway if anyone has a little insight for me I'd love to hear it.

Go back and ask for the dtc, not the description. If you get a P0420 or P0430, take the car to the dealer and have the converter(s) replaced FREE!

catalytic converters carry a special warranty, might be 8 yr/80k miles. you'll have to look it up, and don't necessarily trust the dealer to tell you.

you need to get the specific codes.

if you are getting p1415 and/or p1416 then it's the air check valves. I've had those come on and off over the last year and a half until i replaced the air check valves.

I had this problem in my 99 TA this year. SES light would come on after 20 miles of driving, it would last until I started it up again, then be gone. Took a 16 hour drive in a course of 3 days, no light. Comes on about once a month for a little while and goes away. I had it scanned while the light was on but didnt show a code.

They're covered for 10 years / 120K miles from vehicle in service date. So, as long as you have under 120K miles and you have a converter failure, GM will replace it/them free.

What were the dtcs again?

How can you find service year? is that like 1999 for a 2000 TA ( since they are normally released half a year early ) Or is it simply 2000 TA = 2010 till end of warranty? My left side cat is blowing chunks of itself out and i got a p0430 code to go with it.... 67k miles
