power antenna won't go down

The power antena won't go down in my 2000 trans am. Is there a fuse or realy or do I need to replace the antena. How hard is this job? thanks Roman

motor is probably shot. i dont have a power antenna but if its easy to get to it shouldnt be a problem replacing.

Does it make a sound when it tries to retract?

I got tired of trying to fix mine. I just bought a new metco unit from auto zone...$50. Took all of 20 min to replace.

Doesn't make any noise.

Mine was stuck up when I bought the car, replaced it with one off ebay, went up and down once...And once again I have a car with an antenna up all the time....Every once in a while I hear the motor working, but the mast stays up...

I'd check the electrical first. I would be surprised if the motor died on you. (Not sure which fuse is involved, though.)

You have a different problem. The mast is just gummed up. If you search, you should be able to find the method to clean it and get it working again.
