Question Help with random shut off problem?

Just have a general wondering here and was hoping that you all might be able to help!

My brother has a CJ7 Jeep with a transplanted Vortech V6 from a '93 Blazer. He's having an issue with the motor randomly dying on him while driving. As he described it to me, it happens more when the motor is at full operating temp. Apparently it happened to him 3 times while taking a small road trip. Each time, he pulled over, let it cool off for 5 minutes or so then it fired right up and he could continue on. Each time it happens, it chugs for a second or two, then dies. Fuel seems to be OK, the motor is not overheated and it exhibits no loss of power or show any signs of battery or alternator issues.

I'm thinking it's something with the coil, where it's getting heat soaked, but I'm not sure. I also thought it could be the fuel pump, but that's brand new and he says it's working fine.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks a ton!

Failing Crank Shaft Position sensor can do that.
