Default Help: Need Part Number

I've been looking for this part number and can't seem to find it anywhere in any of the diagams online. I finally found a picture on LS1 How To's website of the bracket I'm looking for.

Anyone know what it is and what the part number is?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not entirely sure. According to LS1 How To it wasn't on all cars. Mine was broken and when I removed it, the bracket that the sway bar bolts to was bolted to this bracket. It is only on the driver's side. Here is the article that shows how to access it.

Thanks.

Yeah I believe so. It has the 3 bolt holes and one is used on the sway bar bracket I believe.

I can't find this bracket in my GM parts catalog. What is the bracket for? You say it bolts to the swaybar bolts but whats its purpose? I will look at my SS when I get home; do all car have this bracket? What are the specs on your car...manual trans, auto matic, year, WS6????

Yeah I've had a lot of trouble trying to find it in any documentation or parts diagrams as well. That link I posted above was the first mention I had ever seen of it on LS1 How To's website. I believe that it is the heat shield bracket that SJSingle1 mentioned above.

From what I have read I do not believe that all cars have it. I only discovered it because the bracket that the swaybar bolts to on the driver's side broke on my car...and that bracket shared at least one bolt with the one I am looking for (Heat shield bracket). I remember having to remove the bolts for the wheel well cover to access it as the instructions on the link below show.

BTW my car is an '01 WS6 M6.

Thanks again for the help and I apologize for not knowing more...I'm a noob when it comes to working on my car.

The CD catalog I have says it's a bracket for the cruise control module. I'm sure the part numbers are no good now.

Yeah I really didn't think it did much either but it was killing me not being able to find it. I don't think it really serves a purpose to the sway bar bracket correct?
