Default alternator not charging

Ok I did searches and couldn't find anything on this,

My alternator went out (or I thought it did I didn't get it checked before buying a new one) I replaced it and the new one isn't charging, Iv had some electrical problems lately (blowing the pwr accy fuse #7 found that one of my fog lights was shorting out and blowing every time I remotely lock or un lock the doors think I fixed it tho) so with the new alternator not charging I looked for a blown fuse and found there's now power from the the PCM to the alternator (the small red wire that goes into the alt to power the fields)

Whay would there be no power to my field wire?

Usually they don't charge because people break that little excitor wire that plugs into the alternator.....

If that wire is definitely ok and not frayed or broken, maybe the plug is bad. They're $10.00 on ebay.

U may have to replace the wire all the way back to the main wiring harness. I just went through having no power to my alternator either. I had to replace the pcm at the dealership to make sure that I got the right one and also replaced the alternator, and the excitor plug. The plug cost me 50 dollars from the dealership. The pcm replacement was 700 dollars. and the alternator I got from O'reillys for 145 dollars. I went through 4 alternators before I found one that would work. My car was down for 2 and half weeks. Of course u can find these things for cheaper.

More than likely that little wire on top of the alternator is broke or frayed.

Easy fix.
