Headlight goes half way up and grinds

Headlight goes half way up and grinds So my driverside headlight started going half way up and makes a drinding noise but if I give it a lil nudge it goes up. What is wrong is it a simple fix?

The plastic gear is stripped...very common. Looks like your ready to do a FREE gear flip.
