Default Power steering pump

Ok so I'm trying to change my power steering pump. I went to autozone and rented their power steering pulley puller and I can't figure it out. The bolt is to thick to thread in there, but it seems like other people are getting it to work whats the trick?
This is what it looks like:

That is the correct tool. Its going to be hard to explain but I'll try. The center bolt doesnt thread into the shaft of the pump. It simply pushes on the end of the shaft. You will need a seperate tool to install the pulley...this is the one that threads into the shaft.

You have the 2 clamshell pieces, the outer ring that holds them together, and the puller itself.

Thread the center of the puller all the way out so that the round end is flush with the end of the puller.

Take one clamshell piece in your left hand and place the lip in the ridge of the bottom of the pulley.

Take the puller and place in the clamshell.

Take other clamshell piece and place on top.

Slide ring over the clamshell pieces to hold them in place. Tighten center bolt on puller with your fingers.

Use 2 wrench's or wrench/ratchet to tighten bolt until pulley is removed.
